Soft brown sugar and chocolate aroma, picks up some coffee and pine in the finish. Lighter on the aroma and flavor than I’d like to see. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA

Deep brown with some purple and brown light through the edges of the glass. Medium body, smoky and full of coffee and a wet-tasting chocolate malt flavor. Decent overall, a little thin - finishes with some vegetable or grass flavor. Needs to be thicker, with more of the chocolate and smoky malt flavors. Oakes (8139), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2005 Dark mahogany with chestnut highlights. Light flavour - especially considering how strong this beer is. Nutty, almondy flavours make for a pleasant if unassuming porter. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

No roastiness. Reasonably sweet finish. Caramel, toast, light licorice character. Nice mouthfeel, a solid porter. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 23, 2003 Updated: Feb 9, 2003I'm a big fan of Porters, and I'm a big fan of this bar/pizza place/wedding chapel, but this was not at the top of my list. Very thin, strangely bitter, and unimpressionable. The traditional porter roastiness wasn't really there at all, there was some definite astringent qualities I didn't much care for, and besides the slight hints of coffee, there wasn't much distinguishable flavor. The pizza was really good though.
