The Special Bitter is more robust than our ordinary bitter. In addition, the special bitter has more hop character and residual maltiness than the ordinary bitter.

Amber and cloudy with a light off white head. Aroma is hoppy, with some citrus and a little pine. Nice bitter complex throughout with a push towards maltiness during mid swig. A nice bitter beer. Finishes nice and dry.

This ale is really light and not as flavorful or hoppy as I had hoped for a "special" bitter. It tastes a little watery but none the less this is a true session beer. You can drink three or four pints of this with no adverse effects.

Very fluffy and thick head. Very classic bitter qualities but like many, could benefit with even more hops. This beer goes down great with pizza too.
