This is one of those beers that requires a fire place, cigar, and naked dancing women. Kudos to Northwoods Brew Pub. I dont think there’s a better beer to just sit back and have a relaxing dinner with. Complex on the palate but with such a pleasent taste all the way around. Reminds me alot of Leinies Northwoods, but a little thicker and more complex. What a great beer. shotgun1431 (92), franklin furnace, Ohio, USA

It was a number of years ago so I don't remember all the details. I do remember I really enjoyed it and would like to go again. recommended to anyone who has the chance. I thought this was pretty tasty. pours a coca cola brown with a pretty much no head. aroma is coffee, nuts, cherries, wood, and chocolate. Not too bad. flavor is sweet with a little woody tartness. Doesn’t seem like a pale ale at all. more like a brown ale or something. not bad. Hophead22 (1106), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Copper pour. Light hop aroma, nothing real distinctive though. Pretty good hoppiness too it though, a little grassy, not a bad pale ale. Baumgartner (108), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2008 Bottle poured to glass. A sweet malty aroma of toasted malt grains and a light spuce hop aroma. Small white head disipated to a white rim. Light bodied and soft cabonation. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 19, 2005 Clear copper. Good nose, lots of butterscotch and caramel. Flavor lacks a bit upfront, but finishes with a rich toffee-molasses character, but it’s a bit fake and cheap tasting. Rather low hops. Eh.
