| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 8, 2007 Pours a transparent copper mahogany with a thin ring of tan head. Aroma of toasted caramely malt with some nutty character. Body starts thin and lacking the malty sweetness for the style, but finishes drier and toasty. An ok brown ale, just needs a little more malt and body. Cornfield (4952), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

The aroma is a chocolate covered caramel. It tastes of caramel and chocolate with a mild nutty bitterness. Some added carbonation might perk this up a bit.

Hazy elm-bark brown with a decent bit of head..pleasant pecan-hazelnut nose...fairly dry nutty-caramel initial flavor quickly turns brackish, alkaline, metallic...it must be the water. Pours a clean brown brew with an average fast dissolving off white head. Aroma of roasted hazelnuts, caramel and sweet multi-grain malt. Taste is medium body, a lot of carbonation and a bit watery. Finish is clean and watery with some hint of bitterness. Ughsmash (4044), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottle thanks to Skyview. Poured clear, medium reddish-brown with a very thin layer of beige head. Aroma was of artificially-sweetened nutty and cocoa sugars.. very, very sweet. Flavor was very similar.. sweet chocolate, hazelnuts, and drawn caramel.. the diabetes-inducing sweet factor was ever-so-present, and this was just a chore to drink. Light-bodied and watery though most of the drink, only supported by beefed-up sweetness.. poor balance. This was just a weak attempt. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
