500mL bottle purchased from Richard’s European Grocery in Chicago. Not sure about the AVB but this has the same label as the photo except that the red areas are green. "65" is printed on the top of the label. A very clean, light pils with a spicy/herbal hop character. Unlike some of my peers here I seem to have lucked out on a good bottle; there might be some DMS in the finish but it could be confused for herbal hops.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The color is gold with a surprising tinge of copper. The fizzy white head doesn’t care to remain for more than 30 seconds, nor does it leave any lacing. Aroma is grainy, toasty, and sweet with a touch of caramel. There aren’t any hops here which (along with the color) makes me question the classification as a pilsner. Indeed, the flavor is definitely closer to helles lager than pilsner. There’s some caramel sweetness and a slight metallic finish. It’s pretty watery and thin but very drinkable and definitely an upgrade over your generic pale lager.

This has a European-style label with medals on the neck. Not sure if the medals are recent. Normal lager appearance. There is a tinny aroma of stewed vegetables. The flavor is tinny too - light-bodied with some good bittering hops making a statement. This stuff is about average.

Find at Trader Joe’s Nice golden lager with a beautiful white head - nicely beaded Aroma of sweet malts and grassy noble hop aroma/ Body is rather thin - further thinned by the carbonation. Flavor: Bready, Sweet base malt with a nice peppery hop flavor bringing it all together in the end. Some light oxidative notes Overall: A really good Pils with a wonderful hop character may not be like the Urquell. I am happy this is NOT in a green bottle - definitely a drinkable Pilsner on a warm CA afternoon. Personally I think some ratings maybe biased by a badly handled shipment on the other hand IMHO not enough credit to a well made clean PIls. I am dinging it on the overall for the oxidation and vegetal notes

12 oz. bottle. Floral aroma. Brassy gold color with a decent white head. Thin to medium in body, mild in carbonation. Pale malt, noble hop, hints of spice. The finish is spicy/peppery in a light sort of way. A decent purchase from Trader Joes.

(Bottle) Pours golden. Saaz hop aroma of grass, pepper and light flowers. Bread like malt and some dough are also present. Light oily and some small hints of dew and hay. Dissent Czech Pilsner nose. Simple malt character with some grassy, peppery and light oily and flowery hops. Light bitter and tiny dry. Abrupt finish, only small, gentle hint of hops lingers. . Thin body.

thin head and pretty carbonated. malt and saaz flavor, not much stands out about this beer, recommended for something to drink while your attention is elsewhere.

Clear golden with a tiny white head. Bready, yeasty, doughy aroma with a slight hint of saaz character. Prickly carbonation and light body. Nice basic flavours of saaz and bread dough, slightly sweeter towards the finish. Not bad.
