Commercial Description:
In the US, called BrouCzech Dark.

Pyrope or Bohemian garnet stones were randomly collected in our territory by ancient Celts. It is a stone of all-binding fire, passion as well as purity of heart. However, it is generally known as a stone of love. Thanks to its typical colour, its name has been used metaphorically in connection with the colour of dark and semi-dark beers. Granat from Nova Paka is a dark sweeter lager with quality rich foam that is suitable for mixing pale types; alcohol 5%.

Bottled, thanks omhper. Pours out in a clear reddish brown colour with a low white foam. Toasted malts, caramel, nuts, minerals and grassy hops in the aroma. Mild minerally and grassy hops in the flavour along with fudge and grass. medium-bitter finish of nut-shells and minerally hops.

Has a clear cola color with a small light brown head. Roasted caramel aroma with a light nuttiness. Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel. Rich caramel flavors, roasted graininess and a light bitterness. Sweet, slightly cloying, finish. Not great but not bad either.

Pours a see thru brown with a little tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and a touch of hops. Flavor of aramel, roasted barley, hops, water and not much else. Pretty easy drinking but a mediocre beer at best.

Bottle, as BrouCzech Dark. Pours dark brown with ruby highlights, and a frothy tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, some light fruit, and a hint of deadish hops. Flavor is sweet caramel, a little roast, and a small bit of nondescript hops. Not too exciting, but decent.

12oz bottle. Dark brown with a little red and a beige head. Light grassy aroma with a little cardboard and sweetness. The malt flavors show some caramel and brown sugar, a little bit of roast, but not at all bitter. Light hops just tame the bitterness, but don’t stick out. Sweet, but not annoying. Light body with smooth carbonation. For some reason, Czech dunkels always go down well with me. Not the greatest, but still pleasant and drinkable.

500ml bottle (alko)
Very dark red, thin head. Spicy hoppy aroma, crisp and peppery, and a touch of ginger. Quite lively in the mouth. Very rich roasted malt, and tangy hops make their presence felt even before swallowing. Some sweetness, but it’s not sickly. The noble hops leave a very long finish. Very typical nova paka taste, but they do do very tasty dark lagers.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is hard to find with some roasted malts if you use your imagination. Flavor is not much better. Some dry malts and a ever so slight touch of smoke. A little earthyness on the swallow but nothing to make this a better beer. Quite boring.

Pours very deep red, big billowy head on top. Aroma is muted and far off, but nice bready notes can be found, somewhat "spritzy". Flavor is malty, some quality exists in he beginning, but is somewhat clouded by a faint metallic note. Lots of grassy notes in the flavor, and there’s a bitter moment about 80% of the way through. Pretty good for what Joe charged for it.
