Commercial Description:
In the US, called BrouCzech Dark.

Pyrope or Bohemian garnet stones were randomly collected in our territory by ancient Celts. It is a stone of all-binding fire, passion as well as purity of heart. However, it is generally known as a stone of love. Thanks to its typical colour, its name has been used metaphorically in connection with the colour of dark and semi-dark beers. Granat from Nova Paka is a dark sweeter lager with quality rich foam that is suitable for mixing pale types; alcohol 5%.

Bottled as Brou Czech Dark. Pours clear brown with a fluffy, lacy light tan head. Noble hop and biscuit aroma. Light body and medium carbonation. Very light sweetness to the taste, nutty, burnt sugar. Crisp, floral and lightly bitter finish. Easy drinker, but I wouldn’t be against a little more malt presence.

350 ml bottle from TJs. Clear reddish color with a fizzy white head. Malty aroma and bready taste without much else going on.

Brou Czech Dark - The aroma was Munich malt and chocolate with caramel through the moussy brown head. The beer poured brown with an amber highlight coupled to a tall small bubbled head which lasted well to lace the glass. The flavor was malty with a light bit of smoke in the chocolate, nutty and caramel world. The flavor was toasty and had just a bit of a grassy character. The finish was dry with lasting light bittering into the aftertaste. The body was medium, or just a skinch below, the carbonation was moderate and the beer was almost creamy on the palate. A decent beer, quite enjoyable to consume. 12 ounce bottle. Purchased at Trader Joes.

33cl bottle. A czech dunkel? Sounded strange but tasted great. Dark brown/amber colour. Aroma was sweet malt. Flavour was nice chocolate and malt. Slight bitterness at the finish. Well done

As Brou Czech Dark; bottle from Trader Joe’s. Something of a brown sugar aroma. Dark mahogany color with a little tan head. A bit thin in body, and the carbonation is mild and fizzy. The flavor seems to be light chocolate and medium roasted malt. The slightly sweet finish has a decent amount of bitter, and coffee seems to be present now. Drinks well.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Very deep ruby in color. Lightly sweet sugary/chocolate aroma. Sweet chocolate flavors. Some roasted maltiness as well. Pretty easy little sipper.

bottle. Dark reddish-brown colour, large and very persistent head, quite creamy. Full-bodied and malty, slighlty sweet with lovely bitter hops as a contrast. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Bitter-sweet character - brilliant!

Bottle... wonderful dark color with a light brown head. Superb aroma! Tons of character in the mouthfeel with a bitter finish. One of my favorite beers. Hugely underrated, in my opinion.
