| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 4, 2009 The aroma is kind of dirty with a grapefruit like hop and cheap malt. The aroma is not all together that good but oddly not skunked. The appearance is golden with a nice head. The flavor is like cheap lager with a malt liquor like taste or maybe dish water and yeast. The palate is average for this style but the finish is astringent. Overall I have to say it is not good at all. osu97gp (172), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Caramel malt aroma with some floral hop esthers. Caramel malt flavor as well with a bitter metallic hop finish. Decent pale ale with a good balance. Cletus (5055), Connecticut, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2008 12 oz, bottled 08/20/08. Clear, orange-amber with two-fingers of sticky meringue that leaves crunchy lace all over the glass. Spicy orange, caramel and tea leaf aromas. Flavor is orange, caramel, and a light-fruit blend that is balanced nicely by a wood-and-resin, lightly peppery hop finish. Light-medium body is mostly smooth and well balanced in both mouthfeel and dryness. Pleasantly surprised by this very good session ale in the English style; seems more an ESB than a Golden. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 27, 2008 This comes out of the tap a nice clear dark golden with a thick, fine-bubbled head. Aroma is strong and richly hoppy with a hint of spice. Flavor is very hoppy and fairly but not fiercely bitter, and has a touch of sweetness and of spice. Texture is a bit edgy, but it does down the hatch quite smoothly.
