Black-colored with a huge bubbly, strange-shaped, slowly-diminishing, brown head. Aroma has some chocolate, some licorice and some coffee candies. Nice sweetish roasted flavor with coffee. Medium-bodied. Not bad at all in spite of the best before date. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA

The aroma was roasted malts and coffee. The flavor was dry roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. Overall, a tasty brew. TURDFERGUSON (1606), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Bottle from strykzone. Thaks Dave! I found this to be a pretty typical dry stout. Roasted malts and a faint dark chocolate character highlight the aroma and flavor components of this not-so-sweet elixir. Puts me to sleep and I dump the rest out the next morning. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2008 Bottle. BotM. Pours a deep brown with minimal head. Nose is mild, coffee and sweet chocolate. Taste is just as mild, lacks complexity and I noticed none of the hops mentioned in the commercial description.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 27, 2008 bottle- not a bad stout- but not much in the roast department- a bit too simple- not much to distinguish itself from the rest in this class. biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Beer of the month club. Pretty nice stout here, smooth with good flavor, and drinkable. Wouldn’t call it an overly bold stout, but everything doesn’t have to be bold. changeup45 (800), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Pours a thick blackish color topped with a fairly thick tan head. The aroma is a pretty strong coffee smell. Not a bad amount of lace left on this one, but the head diminished a little bit. The flavor is pretty good but the only thing I really detected was a coffee taste with maybe some chocolate a slight bitter hops taste mixed in.
