Commercial Description:
Nutfield Summer Wheat is an American Wheat Ale, i.e., it is "cold-filtered", golden in color, with a cool crisp, refreshing taste and clean finish. Brewed for the heat of summer, it goes down easy, with little hop taste and aroma, and a slightly "sweet" maltiness.

A brownish, slightly cloudy look to it. Actually a little darker than most other wheat beers I’ve tried. The aroma is somewhat sweet and fruity, pretty nice. Moderate amount of head, doesn’t stick around though and fails give a whole lot of lace. Wasn’t quite as refreshing as I thought it would be. Flavor is a sweet malty taste with a flowery, fruity note mixed in as well. Pretty smooth, but not as smooth as I was hoping for. All around I’d have to call this an average beer - I liked their Old Man Ale a little bit better.

Orange cloudy color with a nice malty aroma. The flavor can be best described as malty blending into the hoppy.

Bottle - Pours a darkish amber with a thin white head that starts foamy and fades quickly. Aroma is faint of the banana that defines the style, but is not too strong.... none of the clove flavor that should be here. Flavor is weak of wheat nutiness. Not a good effort and not one that I will repeat; after the other 2 bottle are gone, of course.

Deep golden. Frothy whitish head. Grainy nose. Not much in terms of flavor or body, but reasonable and does have a nice clean toastiness. A strange bitterness emerges, overhopped?!

I have to agree with the other raters here. This fell far short of par for american wheat ales. For one thing, perhaps this is just my opionion, hoppy wheat beer is just plain wrong, and wheat beer should never be this clear. This just tastes odd.

Well....there is nothing WRONG with this beer....but there isn’t really anything RIGHT with it either.
