Taste: Wow, full bodied ,strong hops dark malts, fruitiness, chocolate dryish lasting aftertaste. Last cask ,last pints oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Aug 24, 2008 Bottled (thanks omhper!). Very deep brown, close to black, colour. Mediumsized brown creamy head, that leaves nice lace. Aroma is toffee, fudge, licorice and caramel malts along with slight notes of wood. Flavour is very much the same in a very pleasant balance. The wooden notes are stronger in flavour than aroma. Big licorice finish. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 30, 2008 On tap at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Gothenburg. Served next to pitch black, with just a little dark brown hue. Looked clear, and had a small, dense tan head on top. Roasted and burnt nose with coffee, some burnt sourness, salty licorice and a piney note. It was dry in the mouth, but still a bit sweet, and full bodied. There were flavors of chocolate, burnt malt, some licorice and a nice resiny hoppy bitterness. The finish was long and smooth, with coffee-like bitterness. Really a true beauty and a worthy winner of a homebrewing contest. (080709) Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland Aug 8, 2008 courtesy of Per - dark black with a persistent little dark beige foam; strong notes of ashes with some fruits and chocolate in the background; soft mouthfeel, medium-bodied, sweet and a bit salty; quite dry; long aftertaste of ashes, figs and licorice - full of character and very similar to Cieux IS TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Jul 19, 2008 Bottled@RBESG Grand Tasting 2008
Dark chocolate brown color, small tan head. Dark malty, licoricey aroma with hints of dark chocolate. Tasty salt licorice and alcohol flavor. Long roasted aftertaste. Another outstanding beer from Nynäshamns.
