Aroma with dark toffee and chocolate with notes of vanilla.

Rather smooth with licorice and tidbits. Pretty light body for an imperial stout; British-style.
Late, medium bitterness.
ekstedt (1603), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 6, 2008 Sampled at the RSBEG08 grand tasting. Dark murky brown with medium beige head. Strong but gentle roasted malt aroma with spicy/herbal hops. Medium bodied and soft mouthfeel. Good balance, but not exciting in any way. Magic_dave6 (3420), Glasgow, Scotland Jul 5, 2008 Bottle at the RBESG08 Grand tasting. Alround rating: Nose is very hoppy and bitter with roast, taste is similar and its just soo unbalanced. cgarvieuk (2094), Edinburgh, Scotland Jul 5, 2008 Deep brown .. rich malty fruity nose ... roast malts ...bit thin... little chocolate ... woody and earthy larsga (2086), Oslo, Norway Jun 30, 2008 Medium brown lasting head. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Roasty tropical fruit aroma, rather faint. Dry-sweet roasty wooden tropical fruit taste, rather delicate (if one can say that of something so powerful) and well balanced, with chocolatey oily notes. Traces of wood (teak?) and perfume. Long aftertaste of the same. Nice! (0.25l draft at Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg.) Marsiblursi (1248), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 18, 2008 (Draught) Pours dark brown to black. The aroma is light to medium roasted with tones of liquorice, dark bread like malt, coffee and hints of dark fruits and dark chocolate. A sting of smoke and burned rubber is also present. Undertones of grassy and tiny herbal hops. The flavour is of light to medium roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, some dark chocolate, dark fruits and dark bread. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy but round. Some hop bitterness that brings a dry ending. Medium bodied. If you look at it as a normal Stout this beer is quite bold but as an Imp Stout it is rather weak.
