berkshire_john (1106), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Dec 14, 2007 Draught at Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Deep ruby red with a tan head; slightly spiced aroma with fruit and malt; complex flavours - stewed fruit, roasted nuts, spices, chocolate; full bodied and smooth; finish is sweet and warming, but also dry with licorice and tobacco. Excellent. sayravai (3186), Helsinki, Finland Dec 1, 2004 Updated: Nov 29, 2007(Draught@Pikkulintu) Starchy, a bit strange, definitely not as good as before. Maybe 7-4-7-4.14 at most. Sampled after Mikkeller To From anf Santa’s little helper 2007.
(2004 version, Draught@Ardbeg Room, Stockholm, was 8-5-8-4-16=4.1) Very dark brown color with a tight and lasting, beige head. Slightly sweet but somewhat hoppy, roasted aroma. Spicy, roasted flavor with licorice, coffee and toffee, plus an inch of sourness. Medium to full-bodied, sticky and slightly sugary palate with smooth carbonation. An excellent, tasty, and easily drinkable, very well-balanced christmas brew. DA (2482), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Mar 7, 2005 This was a really nice spiced winter warmer, lots of holiday spice like the anchor OSA. From the bottle this pours a hazy dark red with a medium off-white head. Lots of clove spice in the nose, hints of nutmeg, cherry and tobacco. Taset was very balanced with a nice sweetness up front that gave this substantial body. The nutmeg was more noticable in the taste, but clove and vanilla were both present. I was very impressed with this brew that I had never heard of. IslandHaole (1030), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan May 11, 2005 An opaque, dark Brown color with a tan head. This beer reminds me of my grandmother making a spice cake, all of these different spices being blended in the bowl plus the dough and yeast, very nice! Just like a Thanksgiving dessert, the spice cake and a cup of coffee with a spiced hot toddy afterwards. Delicious! Nice feel to this, with the body and the carbonation level both just the way i like them. Thank you Per-San for this special treat and the fond memories it has conjured up! CapFlu (3340), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jul 26, 2006 (500ml bottle) Courtesy of Joris via the way of Lubiere. Thanks boys! Pours a small beige creamy head resting atop a an opaque body. Nose is intensely fig, clove and minty. Much more candied ginger and cloves in the flavour with a very pleasant spicy malt with a minor, thin, exposed smoke in the finish. Lovely beer.
