Bottle, courtesy of unknown Swedes at ZBF 2006, shared with John White on Eurostar back to London, March 2006. Jet black, no head and low condition. Soft sweet liquorice and low coffee notes in the nose, gentle bitter chocolate powder, some sweet low liquorice and a gentle roasted bitterness in the mouth, delicate buttery sweetness and bitter chocolate notes in the finish.

Mar 1, 2008 Updated: Mar 7, 2008Tap. Black colour with a tan head. Very much tar on the nose! Loads of roasted malts and coffe beans. Flavour has a little malt sweetness. Roasted and bitter notes of tar and coffee beans. Much tar in the finish as well with an good amount of bitterness. Nice!

Pour inpenetrably black with a fine, staying, creamy, beige head. Sweetish aroma with light liqourice, chocolate and mild coffee notes. Light mouthfeel, but not thin. Flavour has a light metallic edge at first, then a terrific dryness with roasted malts, lots of dark chocolate and light coffee. Sad about the metallic off-flavour - otherwise a stunning beer.
