Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 4, 2003 The aroma is sweet, malty, and slightly smoked - the aroma is rather slight, but good. The color is pitch black and it has a good but disappearing head. The flavor is sweet chocolate with coffee and roasted notes. Great when it is served "warm". omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 20, 2003 Sampled draught at Stockholm Beer Festival.
Really black. Distinct creamy chocolate aroma with a touch of licorice. Sweet nose, big rounded maltiness. Roasty and fruity with salty bitterish finish. The most powerful so far of Nynäshamns many beers. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 3, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Pours black and opaque with a light brown head. Burned, coffeeish aroma with a whiff of tobacco. Medium body with sweetish and very burned malt accents and a smoky edge. Distinct malt bitterness in the finish. Plenty of smoke and tar in this one. 191207 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 27, 2005 Black. The aroma is very much like a Tootsie Roll, but also with lots of dark chocolate and a whiff of smoke. Sweet, very malty character. Exceptionally chocolatey. Sweet, mouth-coating finish. yespr (6944), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 15, 2008 RBESG2008: 50 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a creamy light brown head. Smooth roasted malt aroma.
