It poured a hazy golden liquid with a small light brown foam. Sweet smell of caramell, honey and sugar. Very smooth mouthfeel. Sweet taste of sugar, honey and malt. Alcoholic finish. Nice but a bit to sweet for me.

Bottled. The aroma has caramel and raisiny malts, some grapefruit hoppiness. Clear, amber-red coloured beer with a lasting off-white head. The taste is sweet, has toffee, hops, raisins mainly. Belly-warming beer. Alcohol present. Nice.

Bottle. Hazy amber with a thick small white head. Malt, vinous, caramel, berries and some alcohol. Sweet taste, lots of malt. Not bad but very sweet.

Sampled from bottle at SMOF. Vintage 07. Copper colour, pretty low head. Almond paste and cognac in aroma. Nice higher alcohols. Obvious alcohol in flavour, it gets too much, and becomes bitter. Nice solid maltiness, but lacking the bold malt kick I want in a Barly Wine. Not all complex. Or not that outspoken. Alcool dominates and lingers unfortunately after 2 years in bottle.

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours deep red copper with a big, yellowish head. Potent citrus hops and raisins aroma. Raisins, toffee and grapefruit flavours, all perfectly balanced. A very enjoyable barley wine- harmonious and dangerously drinkable.

Bottle@Home. Very malty aroma. Orange golden colour, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, light malty, lots of malts, hint of honey, sugar and maple syrup. Nice Barley Wine, tasted like it had aged a little, could use some hops.
