| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Sampled from bottle at SMOF. Vintage 07. Copper colour, pretty low head. Almond paste and cognac in aroma. Nice higher alcohols. Obvious alcohol in flavour, it gets too much, and becomes bitter. Nice solid maltiness, but lacking the bold malt kick I want in a Barly Wine. Not all complex. Or not that outspoken. Alcool dominates and lingers unfortunately after 2 years in bottle. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours deep red copper with a big, yellowish head. Potent citrus hops and raisins aroma. Raisins, toffee and grapefruit flavours, all perfectly balanced. A very enjoyable barley wine- harmonious and dangerously drinkable. jbrus (4894), Delft, Netherlands
