(2004 bottle at The Rover, Göteborg) Dark brown to black color, beige head. Sweet chocolate scent. Slightly acid taste, a bit coffee and sweet chocolate. Almost thin body, still normal...

Creeemy brown head, black body; A bit oxidization in the nose, deep, complex, super fruity, but the oxidization is overpowering everything; Huge carbonation in a balanced body that is s bit thin textured; It finishes of very long but equals out very fast (I think because of its dryness) and just becomes a quite simple mass of smell and feel that lasts forever. I had very high expectations to this beer and I dont really think it full fills.

Bottle at "Den Tatoverede Enke" No. 127. Thanks to René who recommended to go there and have one. Pitch black - no head, a small ring of white "foam". Very soft and drinkable, easy to drink very fast if you forget to taste it and just swallow. Roasted, sweet, prunes, raisins, oiley, dried fruits, chokolate, sweet portwine, some oaky tastes. Very nice and fullbodied.

Bottle no 206, vintage 2005 at Haket, Göteborg. Pours black with a beige head. Rich espresso nose. Flavours start sweet with well-balanced smokiness, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Smooth as velvet and full-bodied. A great porter.

Bottle #50, vintage 2005 at the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/sweden/s target=blank>Glenfiddich Warehouse No. 68 in Stockholm, Sweden. Deep black in colour, thin quickly dissipating beige head, no lacing. Very thick looking. The aroma is of coffee, espresso, light chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, gingerbread and licorice. The flavour is of roasted malts, cream, some butter, dark chocolate, molasses, burnt malts, oaky and is quite rich. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a medium sweetness, rich, lots of chocolate, medium length. Worth the wait (I missed a chance to try this at RBSG2005) and worth every penny spent on the bottle.
