| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Almost black. Strong whisky aroma with coffee, chocolate and sweet malts. Rich, coffeeish flavour - long and assertive without being aggressive. Underlying woody, whiskyish notes. Excellent balance - the barrel-aging perfectly complements the porter, making it better. Easily the best balanced barrel-aged beer. What the others should be striving for.
