AlabastorJones (762), San Francisco, California, USA Oct 8, 2009 musky simcoe nose, flavor is mildly bitter, straw, slightly grassy, simcoe maybe some amarillo, some sort of yeasty flavors, reminds me of a trappist ipa i brewed once, not a bad pale ale by any stretch JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 4, 2009 Hazy golden pour. Sticky white head. The nose is a little bit citrusy with some orange peel and a bit of soft caramel. A touch of bready yeastiness as well. There is a kiss of light cookie dough malts as well. It’s sweeter than I’d usually like in a pale ale, but it has a reasonable balance with a bit of toffeeish character and some nice hoppiness on the back. Pretty simple malt forward APA. Hoppy aroma. Small white head. Golden coloured hoppy and creamy on the palate. Slightly bitter dry finish. Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 23, 2009 On tap at the brew pub in Tlaquepaque. Pale amber color, single finger head. Very light hop and crystal malt aroma. Taste is mostly hop bitterness, and some caramel malt backbone. Very little hop flavor (really wish there was more). Having just a high level of hop presence in the bitterness makes it less quaffable. rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 22, 2009 On tap at Oak Creek.
Beer is a orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is malt, hops, water. Flavor is malt, water, and a little dose of hops. Finishes crisp and a little bitter. Decent pale ale. Ron (1002), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 26, 2009 Good head and carbonation in this one. Alot of hops here, too much for my liking. Some bitterness at the end. FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Apr 22, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of an extra from hellbilly. Thnks, buddy! Pours a dulled amber with some haze, lively carbonation, and moderate offwhite bubbly head that dies to a small layer and laces some. Aromas are on tap with the style, pushing some lemon, grass, and grapefruit from a good hopping and some pale malt sweetness and a touch of grain. Promising. Initial is light on the palate, pushing a highly sessionable pale malt sweetness with decent hopping of florals, grass, and citrus. Light, a bit depleted maybe, but sessionable. Finish pushes light florals, light bitterness, and pale malts and a touch of soap on the aftertaste. Not bad, not great. A little watery for my liking. This would be a great lawnmower APA on a hot sweaty day, where hops might detract from hydration. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Apr 17, 2009 Sampled on 4/16/2009. This Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is orange and citrus, some caramel malt. A medium bodied Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Lively carbonation. Grapefruity hops and not much else. Could use a little some more maltiness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and sharp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
