Very hoppy with surprising carbonation - almost an IPA. Worth the trip to the Tlaquepaque shopping plaza in Sedona.

I was disappointed to discover that they did not have an IPA on tap but when I tasted the next best thing (the Pale Ale) I was very impressed. It had a nice hoppy flavor with a smooth mouth feel. A definite winner considering that it was a Pale Ale. The Brewpub itself is definitely worth revisitng as well, very nice ambience. A step up from the typical industrial look that is popular with Brewpubs.

3/11/06: Bottle. I didn’t remember I had had this previously and didn’t notice on the bottle that the brewery was out of Sedona. This brew certainly wasn’t available in bottle when I last had it in 2002. It is as good as my previous rating states. Sweet and fruity aroma with some hops. Smells like an APA should. Clear amber in color with particalia throughout (is this a sign of age?) Avg. sized off-white head. Excellent lace. Really nice rich, strong hop flavor. Reminds me a little bit of some of Stone’s brews. A winner. 8/25/02: Draught. On our way to Sedona, my wife and I had just finished arguing about spending too much time in brewpubs when we arrived at Tlaquepaque. Much to my delight, I stepped out of the car, and the first thing I see is the Oak Creek Brewery. After reviving me, my wife and I ate lunch there and I enjoyed an outstanding beer in Doc’s Pale Ale. A roasted malt aroma gives way to a very hoppy initial mouthfeel. The beer’s menu description describes it as malty, though I did not, thankfully, find that as one of its defining characteristics. Doc’s is very drinkable and very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

12oz bottle via USPS-thanks ricardo! Nice color, great citrusy aroma, big fluffy white head (could be from the 1000 mile travel & one hour chill time). the flavor was classic American Pale, crisp & citrusy, mild sweet malt background. i think the slight smoky flavor RW talked about was from the bong in the corner. very nice beer from Sedona. I could drink a case of these.

Man when first put my nose to this one thought I had an IPA rather than a Pale Ale. Floral aroma, body copper color with off white head that stayed the entire beer. Lacing was good. Nice citrus hop flavor. Cool and crisp on the palate. A good refreshment.

No "Doc’s on label: Pours en fuego with a shrinking head that leaves an uncanny amount of lace. Lightly hopped aroma is a delicate balance of apricot, candied orange and flowery rose. The body exhibits an even better balance of buttery caramel, doughy breads and bitter grapefruit. Very clean, very drinkable and not overly bitter. This is nicely done and keeps well within the guidelines of an APA. This would be fantastic to session with.

12oz bottle from cbkschubert. Thanks! Nose of citrus, caramel, and hops; Slighty hazy amber with a small beige head; flavor of nice citrusy hop bitterness with a twist of caramel malt. Nice pale ale!
