| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2006 On tap at the Oak Creek Brewery and Grill. Medium golden pour, crisp, bubbly white head. Aroma pretty neutral with some fresh lake water accents coming through. Clean, crisp lager flavor. Good balance of hops and malt and it finishes with a good hoppy bite. Very refreshing sitting out on the patio on a hot Sedona afternoon. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 26, 2006 One of the 7 Dwarves in the Oak Creek tasting set. Not much to it say: its a pale lager and it looks, smells and tastes like one - in other words, there isn’t much to see, smell or taste (especially in comparison to the other brews on the tasting platter). I’ll admit that it had more flavor and slightly more texture than a macro lager but that’s about it. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 9, 2006 12oz bottle pours golden with a short white head that stays pretty well and laces a little. Aromas of lemon, and light grains. This does seem more like a helles to me than a pale lager as it definitely had more sweet honey flavor blended with some lemon. Airy and somewhat light on the palate. Crisp and clean and pretty drinkable on a hot summer day. I don’t believe that this one should be listed as a pale lager. eaglefan538 (2368), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Had this two times and it sure isn’t a Pilsner, despite their website description. The brewpub/grill listed it as a Munich style Helles lager. This one certainly doesn’t kill you with grassy hops! Standard golden color with a nice initial white head, that dissipated gradually, but provided solid lacing. The aroma was malty rich and the hops undetected. The flavor was sweet (maybe a bit too much) and malty grainy (some light honey flavors). Fairly heavy mouthfeel, sticky sweet. (Resampled on 5/2/06.) cbkschubert (1983), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2006 Pours a nice clear golden-orangish color with a very light head that faded quickly. Has a light grainy, grassy aroma. Flavor leans toward the hoppy side with a touch of diacetyl. Leaves a slight bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body. An ok beer KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 29, 2006 12 oz Bottle: Labeld simply as ’Gold Lager’. Pours a light golden color, a little more orange/yellow than standard gold. A head from my agressive pour is minimal and disappears quickly. The aroma is of lemons, pine, and wood with a little bit of hops. The flavor is a little of apples, pee, a touch of hops. a quick hitting light palate. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Mar 27, 2006 12 oz bottle, via FlacoAlto, labeled as "Gold Lager". Pours a deep gold colored body with a minimal and quickly disappearing white head. Nose is showing alot of DMS, just like opening up a can of creamed corn. Beyond that maybe a little toasted malt. Flavor is just as thin as can be, with a corn flavored finish and minimal to no hoppiness. Typical Pale Lager Mouthfeel, thin and fizzy with a dry finish. This is just another in the long storied history of flavorless Pale Lagers.
