Commercial Description:
A traditional unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer with aromatic hints of banana and clove. This beer won the Bavarian Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver Colorado Staurday, September 27, 2003. It is made with up to 50% wheat malt instead of all malted barley which lends a lighter note. It is deep gold in color with a very low hop bitterness level and a dense head of white foam. It is traditionally enjoyed as the summer beer of choice in Bavaria and pairs well with appetizers, sandwiches and subs.

Quite a bit of banana, wheat; a strong aroma. Strainy appearance. Pretty nice fresh flavor. A decent beer.

1st night in Sedona had to search this place out. Hard to find in the dark due to not much lighting used in town. Nice and cloudy with aroma of citrus. Flavor of lemon, banana clove. Decent.

Pours slightly hazy golden/straw color with thin white head. Surprising lack of haze and minimal head. Nose is disappointing, but has some faint banana, yeasty/bready aromas, and citrus. Palate is very fruity, nice malt, banana/clove as expected. Just ok.

Sampled on 4/22/2009. This Hefeweizen pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head without much retention. The aroma is bubblegum and wheaty. A light to medium bodied Hefeweizen. The malts are wheaty and sweet with a touch of banana and clove. Hops are slightly floral. Kind of flat tasting and under-carbonated. Sort of between a wheat ale and a hefe. Not a very good example of either. Nothing really unpleasant tasting here, its just that there is not a lot of flavor. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle from Sparky27 via trade. Poured a dirty golden color with a super short white head and no lacing. The aroma is led by spicy clove with light yeast, pepper and faint phenol. The flavor is dry wheat, light pepper and clove and some bubblegum sweetness on the finish. Thin mouthfeel, clean finish. Fine for what it is.

Bottle at nearbeer’s Spring Cleansin’. Pours cloudy golden orange with thin whitish head. The aroma is banana, clove, sticky wheat, and some lemony notes. The flavor is a little cleaner than the nose, with pretty typical hefeweizen traits-- banana, lemon, spicy yeast. Decent but predictable.

12 oz. thanks to lithy for sharing. Foggy golden-orange with a small head. Spicy banana and citrus nose. Tastes of banana, citrus and bready yeast. Light-medium body is tingly and refreshing.

nearbeer’s Spring Cleansin’. Sample from a bottle shared by me thanks to Sparky27. Light hazy orange body with a thin white ring. Basic orange aroma, lightly wheaty creaminess. Taste is more oranges with a light finishing coriander spice.
