Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 23, 2009 On tap at the brew pub in Tlaqapaque. Pours an ultra light color (almost clear). Sweet Pils/Honey aroma. Taste is really light and refreshing, ever so slight corn in there. Good for the style. rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 21, 2009 Pours a pale yellow almost clear color with a small white head. Aroma is corn, malt, water. Kiss of hops and sweetness in the finish. Really easy to drink, and well crafted for a pale lager. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 26, 2008 draft at Oak Creek Pub and Grill - Pours clear yellow with a thin white head and has minimal grainy aroma. The flavor is just light, grainy malt and the barest touch of hops. Nothing is off tasting. There’s just not enough to taste. Watery. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 2, 2008 Poured a straw color from the tap with a respectable head of white foam. Copuldn’t evene finish the sample. Way too yeasty, but I’m not a fan of pilsners in the first place so don’t mind me if you’re a fan. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 12, 2008 Sampled at the brewery...can I just say that I am SHOCKED that this was my favorite of the bunch. I didn’t even order it, my wife did!!! 10 karat gold body with 1/2 inch cloud-like head. The aroma is quite different than other pale lagers...has a semi-sweet quality. Likewise, the flavor was crisp, but had a unique and familiar vanilla hint. If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you’d know I’m all about the IS’s & IIPA’s...this is one that got overlooked. gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Nov 15, 2007 Draft at the brewery. Extremely light straw color and miniscule head. Perhaps the lightest color I’ve ever seen in a beer. I had to practically pour this into my nose to smell anything...got a little bit of hay scent. Tastes like a very clean version of most light macro lagerss, but without any of that sour, skunky flavor that’s often left in the aftertaste. Extremely clean finish. For what they were going for, they did a very good job on this. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 11, 2006 Well, this is not a macro, and it had more flavor for sure than a macro swill beer would. However, this was the most cloying sweet pale lager I’ve ever had with fresh corn detectable (vs. stale corn of bottled macro American pilsners) and grainy malts. Mouthfeel was sweet. Move right along and try something else from OC. Kathy (241), Washington DC, USA Mar 12, 2003 Almost clear yellow -- very, very, very pale. Smells like a light pilsner (yeasty and sour). Tastes like a very mild, almost watery, pilsner. Not a pilsner fan, so I didn't really enjoy this all that much.
