Commercial Description:
A 2002 Bronze Medal Winner in the North American Brewers' Association competition. This northern Arizona favorite has a consistent nutty flavor with just a hint of spice in its depths. A slowly emerging bitterness crops up along the way and is unobtrusively incorporated into the smooth flow. It finishes with a gentle nuttiness and spiciness. Excellent with sandwiches and subs.

Tap at the restaurant. Gorgeous mahogany color. Tight tan head. Bready nose and taste. Light bodied coffee taste followed by bitterness.

Mahogany pour with off white head and lace. Sour, caramel malt, and light nuttiness. Sweet toasted malt followed by a very light bitter. Medium bodied with smooth light carbonation. A beer that had all the tools to make a very good beer just not much flavor or standout aroma.

Mahogany pour with slight ruby hue and a nice 1-inch eggshell head. Aroma is brown sugar and roasted almonds. Flavor is caramel, lightly toasted nuts, and malt. Highly drinkable but just not a huge fan of the style/beer. Good not great.

12 oz bottle from Sparky27. Pours an amber-brown color with a fair size off-white head. The nose is mild with brown sugar, a bit o molasses, and sweet earthy malts. The taste is overtly sweet with more brown sugar, malted grains, bread and almonds. The mouthfeel was a bit on the thin side. The finish was short and sweet. Overall: A very sessionable brown ale, very much enjoyed trying it. Thanks.

Bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a half finger tan head. The nose is light roasted nuts and caramel malt. The taste is light chocolate, malt and more roasted nuts in the finish followed by a slight bitter aftertaste. Medium bodied. An ok brown.

Bottle thanks to Sparky27. Pours a dark amber brown with a very thin tan cover. Thin aroma but some nutty malt, maple syrup, caramel. Tastes are toasted malts, sweet caramel, a finish of a bitter nuttiness.

12 oz bottle thanks to cbkshubert. Pours amber brown with thin tan head. The aroma is woody with some syrup and toffee notes, some burnt marshmellow. The flavor is wood and caramel, with a sort of harsh nuttiness. Decent at first sip, but it falls apart toward the finish, getting a little watery with some cola notes and a bit of chaos. Ok, I guess, but not great.
