Commercial Description:
A 2002 Bronze Medal Winner in the North American Brewers' Association competition. This northern Arizona favorite has a consistent nutty flavor with just a hint of spice in its depths. A slowly emerging bitterness crops up along the way and is unobtrusively incorporated into the smooth flow. It finishes with a gentle nuttiness and spiciness. Excellent with sandwiches and subs.

12 oz bottle thanks to cbkshubert. Pours amber brown with thin tan head. The aroma is woody with some syrup and toffee notes, some burnt marshmellow. The flavor is wood and caramel, with a sort of harsh nuttiness. Decent at first sip, but it falls apart toward the finish, getting a little watery with some cola notes and a bit of chaos. Ok, I guess, but not great.

(bottle from Sparky27, thanks Eric!) Pours reddish brown with a thin white head. Smells like creamed corn with butter, maybe a bit of toasted malt as well. Thankfully the toasted notes become stronger than the creamed corn upon warming. Taste begins lightly sweet, then morphs into buttery and nutty flavors which then switches again to a lightly bitter/toasted nut finish. Mouthfeel is pretty thin. Thanks Eric!

tap at the brewpub - Pours dark brown with a thin head and a caramel malt aroma. It has a rich, caramel malt flavor with a touch of nuttiness. This medium bodied brew has some light hops in the finish.

Nutty aroma (suprise), molasses. Pours a copper brown, minimal head. Molasses, licorice and somewhat oily texture. Palate is thin.

Bottle. Dark brown, thin looking, allows lots of light through. Minimal head. Musty nut and molasses aroma. Interesting flavour combination. Nut and molasses-toffee. Chewy. Doesn’t blow you away but intriguing enough to be interesting. I could sit back with a couple of pints.

Poured a dark amber color from the tap with a hick white head of foam. Malty and balanced with the flavor of hazelnut. Highly drinkable. Easily the best beer I tried at their brewery.
