Rich, roasty, smooth flavor, astringent, a little dairy. Not too complex. Nutty, some cocoa. Nice session brew. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2005 Thanks to Beerhandy for this one. Alarmingly odorless. Deep brown with a fizzy fading head. Probably the nuttiest "nut" ale I have ever tasted. Some mild tobacco notes in there too. It’s lazily intense which makes no sense, but drink it and see if you don’t agree. Actually a very unique beer that I really can’t compare to anything else. There is some bready..more like pie crust really..flavor that permeates the whole affair. Different enough that it demands a sample. Bockyhorsey (2528), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 13, 2005 Not much aroma standing out but if you rally put your nose in the glass a kind of roasted nut aroma. Ruby red body when held to light. Had a good tan head on pour but that was short lasting. Flavor not much but the 6% is hidden in this one. Beer is little watery. Should of had a sandwitch with this one. neocon (34), Gold Canyon, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 6, 2005 Dark brown with medium head and slight lacing of off white color. Smell, First thought was olives? I don’t know so don’t ask. Maybe something I was eating. Has a thin body and a nutty flavor with malt. This was an ok beer but not a keeper. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 20, 2005 Bottle. Deep brown in color with red tinge. Off-white head fades out quickly to a ring and leaves scant lacing. Aroma is initially of stale beer slowly changing to a light malt aroma with some nutty characters. Light malt flavors of nut and coffee are masked with a bitter and slightly sour taste. Body is thin. I would pass on this one if offered again. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2005 Bottle, pours dark brown and opaque with a minimal beige head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is roasty and nutty with a flavor that is both sweet and astringent with hints of chocolate and black tea. Pleasant carbonation and medium body equal a nice mouthfeel. Again, this is a good but not great beer from Oak Creek. bu11zeye (5470), Frisco, Texas, USA
