Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 23, 2009 On tap at the brew pub in Tlaquepaque. Pours deep brown/black with minimal chocolatey head. Nice roasty aroma. Coffee, cream, and roast come through in the taste. Pretty good and reminds me of Four Peaks Oatmeal Stout. Could have stood to be a touch sweeter - would have really improved drinkability and complemented the coffee/roast character. rustychiles (997), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 22, 2009 On tap at Oak Creek.
Pours a deep brown to black color with a light brown head. Aroma is bitter roasted chocolate, coffee, barley. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, roasted barley, coffee. Finishes bittersweet with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Nice porter. Ron (1000), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 27, 2009 When the Barmaid at the Brewpub said I had to go to the restaurant to try the Porter, I knew where I was having dinner the next night. It came in a tall glass looking dark and good and I was thirsty. Aroma of Coffee and chocolate. Flavor has alot of roasted coffee upfront some sweet chocolate then a bitter hop ending. This kept me drinking alot each time(to have less bitter endings) and my wife from trying more than one sip. English style porter for sure. HighWine (163), , California, USA Apr 1, 2009 Tap at the restaurant. Oak Creek has some amazing beers and some very ordinary ones. This is one of the ordinaries. Dark brew, no head and no nose. Thin and sweet at first followed by roast. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Mar 22, 2009 On tap at brew pub. Pours deep dark brown with a tan head that results in nice lacing. The nose is roasted charred malt and dark chocolate. The taste is ashy cocoa, baker’s chocolate and burnt malt with a light bitter coffee finish. Medium semi-creamy body. Decent porter. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 26, 2008 draft at Oak Creek Pub and Grill - Pours black with a fluffy, light tan head that laces heavily. The aroma is mild dark roast malt. It has nice roast malt and chocolate flavors. There’s a medium to full body and a pleasantly bitter finish. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 2, 2008 Poured black with an amber tint from the tap. Frothy, light tan head of foam. Mild coffee in it’s aroma and flavor, but the roast is a bit too burnt for my pallette. A fair porter, but nothing special. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 12, 2008 Beautiful brewery, decent food, average beer. This one is dark brown bordering black with a thick frothy latte head. Aroma and flavor are very subtle, almost non-existent. Burnt marshmellow and bitter chocolate barely make their presence known and the beer’s most redeeming quality is its milkshake consistency.
