Sep 9, 2009 330 ml bottle @ Cardinal in Stavanger.Pours dark reddish brown with a small off white head.Aroma of grains ,citrus and some cellar/oak/vanilla.Flavor of grains,malt,citrus,dried fruits and alcohol with a nice bitter finish.Delicious "rounded" oak body.Big and flavorful not fizzy yellow and bland .

Sep 7, 2009 Pours dark reddish brown with beige head. Aromas of hops, vanilla and oak. Flavor is slightly sweet malts, bitter hops, vanilla and some oak in the finish. Medium body with average carbonation.

Fruity aroma of hops, rich malt, citrus, and oak. Big alcohol in the mouth, and big hops. Burning... Sweet caramel malt and some oak as well. Big and interesting, with huge flavor, though devoid of balance and a bit sloppy. Slightly unpleasant to me.

I know this is a great beer, but the hops overpower the taste..

Aug 30, 2009 bottle, pours carmel color with a thin off white head. Oaky wood and hop nose. Sweet woody malt body some decent hop bitterness in the finish. Better than the original, but not outstanding.

Aug 29, 2009 Bottle. Bronze with a small head.Nutty, fruity flavour with a medium body. Easy to drink but with a powerful presence. Different and very pleasant.

Aug 29, 2009 Aroma of cherries, alcohol, marzipan and yeast. Deep rusty red. Flavour is hop heavy. Malts are more apparent in the aroma, hops are more apparent in the flavour. Laces well. As my mouth adjusts to the bitterness, the oak and yeast begin to shine.
