Bottle. Poured a deep amber with a thick orange-ish head. Head was long lasting with good lacing. Medium bodied. Flavor is quite hoppy with some nice smokey caramel undertones. Would have liked some stronger oak flavor in it. Not sure if I could distinguish this from Arrogant Bastard in a blind taste test.

smoother and more pleasant than it’s younger cousin, this guy packs a stronger punch in the abv. Not worth the six-pack price, but worth the price of the bomber, if you can find it. 17.99 per sixer at whole foods

small fizzy khaki head (quickly and almost fully dissapating) into brown with minimal red highlights. aromas of mod caramel, strong hops and some smoke in finish. flavors of strong bitterness and touch of sweetness. sticky mod thick mouthfeel. lively carbonation. long finish duration. quite enjoyable.

So forgot to rate this. Had this in San Diego just before New Years. Comparing this to the non oaked version. Had this one on tap. Poured is a slightly hazy dark orange red with a nice, 1 inch tan head. Aroma slightly alcoholic, lightly hopped (unfortunately doesn’t pack the punch that original has), and some fruits and oak aromas too. Flavor is oaky and alcohol with a good malt background. Palate isn’t what I hoped for but still very nice. Overall not as good as the original mainly because of the presence of alcohol and less of a hop punch.

Dark brown pour with thin caramel head. Hops, some dark fruit, a little bit of spice are all evident. Smokey finish from the oak chips. Nice beer.

Ryan/Casey. Dark brown with oily head. Hoppy nose. Prickly mouthfeel. Taste of hops and orange. Has a nice kick to it. Then some oak and warming. Hoppy finish. Excellent.

Think Arrogant Bastard. Alcoholic, pine hop profile, and throw in a oakey somewhat smokey flavor and its wonderful. Makes drinking a bit easier.

Pours a clear dark red with big white foam. Taste is sweet and lots of hops. Big difference with the wood, nice smoothed out flavor.Same bastard, goes down faster. Great stuff!!!
