deyholla (507), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 22, 2009 Bottle. Poured a cloudy amber with a reddish hue and a quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma was full of pine notes with an undertone of citrus. Flavor continued with the pine notes and they were a bit aggressive at times. j12601 (1151), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Sep 25, 2009 Bottle from a trade, and I honestly can’t remember who (my guess is it was StFun) exactly as I’d sort of forgotten that I had the bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy orange with what appears to be small bits of dust in suspension. Medium to large honeyed beige head. Big citrus hops, some hay, and a touch of cardboard and caramel. Medium bodied with a little sweet malt. Finishes up with a nice grapefruit bitterness. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2009 Had at a random bar near the hotel at my brother’s wedding in Indianapolis. Not bad, but didn’t blow me away. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2009 Found this one bottled at a liquor store in St. John, Indiana, as part of a mix 12 pack of various beers from Indiana brewers. Clear, medium reddish brown pour with a thin white head, a mild nose of citrusy hops, nicely balanced flavor with a malty backbone, this is why I love the APA style. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 5, 2009 Pours copper with a white head. Smells of wildflowers with some citrussy elements and a hint of caramel. Tastes of citrus, spicy, some perfumy hints, earthy on the finish. Solid beer. tjthresh (1748), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jul 10, 2009 Updated: Jul 27, 2009Pours clear orange with some white head. Bright citrus nose. Very bitter. Dry finish. Onslow (174), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Jun 19, 2009 Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Amber brew with thin, off white head and rich aroma of floral hops. Flavor is dominated by hops, with a strong, dry, hoppy finish. Some fruity overtones in the body. Almost seems to be more like an IPA than a pale ale, but whatever – if you like hopped up brews you’ll like this. Could use a bit more balance in the flave (just a little malt sweetness, please…) but overall a real wake up brew. (Whatever that is.) LtDan (471), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA Mar 14, 2009 Appearance: Pours a cloudy light orange with a pinstripe of white suds.
Aroma: Citrus (orange mostly), dried apricot and sugar.
Taste: Much like the aroma, I get a sugary malt/ citrus burst, followed by some moderate bitter hops.
Mouthfeel: Almost sticky.
Overall: A very malty Pale ale, with some body to it. Perhaps too sweet for a pale ale, a handful more of hops would have served it well. That probably would have taken it into IPA territories.
