Lacing is not the word to describe what is going on. Coats the side of the glass. Smothers the side of the glass. Smells like melon, like a lot of melon. An abrupt bitter taste is one dimensional and falls off to nothing very quickly. This beer has a very soft palate. Not bad, but I would never seek one out. jimbowood (979), Athens, Georgia, USA

Well, he;s wrong. This one really suprised me. Brownish-orange hue w/ a small, white head w/ good lacing. Strong hop aroma. Much stronger that I would expect from a pale ale @ 5.5%. This is a good, drinkable beer. Reminds me of a lighter version of Stone IPA. Take that Seth. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2006 A gargantuan, foamy, cream-colored head settles rocky over a light-hazed amber/orange body. Appearance points for the logo, which reminds me of my second-favorite animated skeleton: <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Daniel_Forte Fortesque. Big, citrus-hopped aroma mimes grapefruit and lemon. Flat-bodied with lemon and biscuit in the flavor profile. Sharp finish. Call this an English Pale and I’ll be happy.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 24, 2005 Very tart (and slightly acidic) with strong peppery burn in the back of the throat. Citrus note with caramel malt base and fairly substantial Cascade hop bitterness. I enjoyed this one more as it warmed a bit. shrubber85 (3000), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2005 Bottle. Orange-pineapple and hops aroma. Reddish amber color with small head. Slightly sweet pineapple with strong hops finish. A decent pale ale - nothing bad but nothing great. Cornfield (4977), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2005 I would’ve rated this higher on appearance, amber gold with a huge head that dissolves in chunks, but there was a strange swirling matter, vortex like, that formed in the center of the glass and remained for some time. The aroma is tart orange and tangerine and so is the flavor, although a bit of caramel malt comes through in the middle. It does manage to finish on a lingering, bitter note, quite nice for this hophead.

Pours a clear amber with a average creamy white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body. Moderate hoppy flavor with an average bitter finish of medium duration. Refreshing brew. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
