Flavor is terrific. Sweet malty stickiness balances the great pineapple and citric hop flavors. A zestiness is left in the mouth to crave more. I am really surprised this is only ranked a 3.15. jimbowood (956), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 4, 2006 Bottle courtesy of hippie4beer. Seth says I never like any of the beers he sends me. Well, he;s wrong. This one really suprised me. Brownish-orange hue w/ a small, white head w/ good lacing. Strong hop aroma. Much stronger that I would expect from a pale ale @ 5.5%. This is a good, drinkable beer. Reminds me of a lighter version of Stone IPA. Take that Seth. gws57 (1138), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Found this one bottled at a liquor store in St. John, Indiana, as part of a mix 12 pack of various beers from Indiana brewers. Clear, medium reddish brown pour with a thin white head, a mild nose of citrusy hops, nicely balanced flavor with a malty backbone, this is why I love the APA style. maawallace (7), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 18, 2009 I really like this beer and think that it has too low of a score. It is a lovely every day beer with a lovely hoppy/caramely aroma, perfect appearance, nice balanced flavor, and just a rather enjoyable experience.
I think this beer is a little too poorly rated and deserves more. johntreeter (122), Greenwood, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Thursday night growler. Pours an amber golden color with a half in. off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and fruity, citrus hops. Flavor is a light sweet caramel with a strong backbone of hops that leave that long dry finish. Med body, mild carb, wet texture, and dry feel. This is my go to pale. It helps that I’m right down the road and fresh beer rules.. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Pours copper with a white head. Smells of wildflowers with some citrussy elements and a hint of caramel. Tastes of citrus, spicy, some perfumy hints, earthy on the finish. Solid beer. jahughey (65), Franklin, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 21, 2005 Good fresh brewpub APA. Dry-hopped, typically citrusy/floral Cascade approach (a good one), yet manages a fairly rich caramel malt character. Could stand a tiny bit more hop, but they make an assertive IPA, so there needs to be some separation, I suppose. Quite drinkable during a game or any other time. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2003 On tap. An odd buttery caste to the flavor and aroma -- but enjoyable. A little briny, so sometimes it reminded me of buttered popcorn with hops. Slightly hazy brown-orange. Lively hopping. Good malt, that. Medium, zippy finish and good mouthfeel.
