| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Tursday night growler. Pours a brownish amber with 2 finger light tan head that left good lacing. Aromas of sweet malt, some apple, a little caramel. Flavor not as sweet as nose would indicate nice roasted flavor right off the bat before the caramel like sweetness sets in and then the light bitterness balancing in the end. Light to med body, mild carb, watery syrup texture, and an almost dry feel. I haven’t had this beer in years and only got the growler for rating puposes, but damn it is so much better than I remember from 10 years ago. I’ll most certainly be enjoying pints of this on a more regular basis. MrRain00 (37), Columbus, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2002 This is a nice, mild amber. It has good taste but not the typical overpowering kick of some ambers. You could drink quite a few of these & still be in good shape. EithCubes (2152), Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Turned out to be rating no. 1750, and my favorite of 37 amber ales. Bottle. Sweet malty nose with a touch of yeast and apple juice, though she’s fresh. Dark brown-amber body with a creamy, rocky beige head. Roast taste, light caramel and dark pitted fruit, a hint of smoke or at least near-peated roast malt, orange peel, rose petals, faint earthy citrus. Slight nuts and a sort of pluot/plum accent. Medium body but just a ton of flavor. Ah, nuance! Balanced and clean and really tasty - extremely good for style. Delicious! Delicious! MrRain (433), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA

Clean, fresh, sweet malt aroma. Sweet malt, yeast taste up front with some bitterness at end. IMO an above average amber, for whatever that is worth.
