After a bit the hops reveals itself with perfume notes. Had to take the nose down to a
seven, because when the brew was first brought to me the most prominent aroma (I’m not
making this up) was one of pickles. That briney vinegar pickle smell eventually faded, but
never went away completely. Though I didn’t find the aroma appealing; I guess after
trying a German smoked last week, I know how odd aromas can be. The brew is black
with a nitro tan head, great retention and a thin curtain of lace. The brew is slightly sweet
but mostly roasted, the finish is long and bitter. I’m happy about the balance. The full,
soft, and dry body is to my liking. Other than the nose, this is a pretty solid stout. Tmoney99 (4729), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Dark brown color with a large creamy light brown head that diminished slowly with excellent lacing. Good roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate roasted malt flavor with a small dry bitter finish of average duration.
