Commercial Description:
Brewed with fresh Oregon Raspberries, Razz has a slightly sweet flavor and clean refreshing finish to quench even the biggest thirst. Unlike syrupy impostors, Razz balances the crisp, citrus-like tones of wheat malt and the tartness of the berries-without overpowering the natural flavor of the beer.

Bottle thanks to steph’s parents. Cloudy red, almost pink with white-pinkish head. Aroma is dry raspberry, some grain, well balanced. Chalky raspberry with some grain, off-dry. Medium-light with active carbonation. Okay, but raspberry is slightly strange.

Had at a random bar near the hotel at my brother’s wedding in Indianapolis. This was my favorite of the Oaken Barrel beers, which is weird since it’s just a random fruit beer.

Found this one bottled at a liquor store in St. John, Indiana, as part of a mix 12 pack of various beers from Indiana brewers. Cloudy, light pinkish-yellow pour with a thick, foamy white head that dissipated rapidly, lots of berries and citrus fruits in the nose, the flavor is potent malty with lots of raspberry and cherry, chocolate, a sweet finish. Might be a little over the top for many tastes, and I couldn’t have many of them, but I didn’t mind this one at all.

Cloudy pinkish pour from a 12 oz bottle. One finger of white head that thins down quickly, leaving a nice bit of lacing. Tart fruity flavor well balanced with dry finish. The fruit flavor is very natural, organic, and low-key. It’s a hot day and this really hits the spot.

Dark pink pour with a pink-white head. Aroma is fruity with some definite raspberries coming through. Flavor is light and fruity. Raspberries and pale malts. Overall not too bad.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Sahara Mart (Bloomington, IN), 6/7/09

Aroma: Strong raspberries nose, fruity and sweet
Appearance: Hazy, dark pinkish color, lots of bubbles, poured a large fizzy head that dissipated quickly
Flavor: Light raspberry flavor, not as sweet as the nose would have suggested, very little to suggest that this is a beer
Palate: Overly carbonated, drinks more like soda then a beer
Overall Impression: Kind of like a super carbonated raspberry soda with alcohol in it. Way to much carbonation, and not much else there. Steer clear of this unless you are looking for something with tons of carbonation and little beer flavor.

BOTTLE: pinkish hazy pour. A little too carbonated for my taste, but the raspberry is present without being overly sweet.
