Commercial Description:
This robust ale is dark, rich, and chewy. Somewhat bitter with a big and chocolatey malt flavor, the Snake brings the kind of flavor that drinkers of single malt Scotch or straight black coffee appreciate.

Decent sized head of varying sized bubbles. Sweet condensed milk aroma with some roasted grains and a hint of chocolate. Color is a very dark brown with some crimson overtones. Body is a bit thinner and less flavorful than expected but very smooth and super easy drinking. I would rank this a good "summertime" porter if there is such a thing. Some more roasted grains and light milk chocolate. Finishes smooth and pretty clean. A very easy drinking porter.

Growler, via StFun. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one finger tight bubbled light brown head that retained as a thin film. Nice chocolaty and roasty nose with a nice hefty hoppiness. Very strong aroma. The flavor is nice, chocolate malt driven, with lighter roast balanced nicely with some leafy hoppiness. A little bit on the sweeter side. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bit of residual sugar clinginess. Moderate fizzy carbonation cuts well though. Overall, a pretty darn good Porter. Very sessionable, this didn’t get tiring through the whole growler.

Slight malt and chocolate aroma. Nice, rich dark color with some reddish-amber hues at the edges of the glass. Starts with a big, toasty flavor and finishes with a balanced, coffee-like finish. Great mouth feel - substantive and creamy without being too heavy.

Bottle. Dark brown with tan head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter and moderately acidic. Slight metallic taste. Medium body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Nice balance between sweet and bitter. Good drinker.
