Pours dark brown with a fluffy, light tan head. Deep, malty, mildly chocolately aroma. Full mouth feel with strong qualities of chocolate, smoke, and some coffee. Very solid. Good Porter.

Bottle: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet roasty dark malts and some mild doughy character with a touch of dark chocolate. Starts with decent body and a pleasant dark caramel maltiness balanced with clean bittering hops before a drier, roasty finish. Quite drinkable and a pretty decent porter.

Thursday night growler. pours a black color with very slight amber edging. Thin light tan head that left some lacing. Aroma is a little light with notes of chocolate and caramel type maltyness. Nice roasted flavor of roasted and toasted malts with hints of milk chocolate, coffee, some vanilla, and spice with a well balanced bitter finish. Med to full body, light lively carb, creamy texture and feel. This is a very very fine porter.

Not a bad beer at all. Nice burnt malt character with some decent roast finish. Nice and rich. Nothing amazing but for a rich porter it covers it basis.

Growler courtesy of Santa. Pours a very dark black colour with a thin brown head. Aroma is full of sweet cocoa, caramel and rich toasted maltiness. No roast, but a very full-bodied rich dark malt character. Milk chocolate and cocoa with a nice lightly herbal bitterness on the back. Nice sweetness and toastiness. A really tasty, well-balanced porter. Thanks again Santa.

Not bad at all. Lots of chocolate. Big creamy head. Maybe a bit carbonated for a porter. But a nice dark beer.

Courtesy of StFun w2ho I’d like to thank for sending a growler AND a 12 oz bottle of this because it allowed me to just sit back and enjoy the growler, be sociable and just have a good time and then to later rate the bottle when I felt like it. The aroma has a little bit of milk sugar, powdered malt notes, gobs of milk chocolate and very faint coffee notes. Malted milk ball is a great description of the aroma. The body is a dark ruby hued brown and holds an attractive, thumb thick, creamy mocha head that is quite lasting. It leaves very clingy, clumpy lace. Very concentrated toffee, caramel and roast malt flavors on the fore. Very caramelized tasting. I wonder if they have a direct fired kettle. Chocolate and more caramel and toffee work well into the finish then leads into milk sugars and alcohol. Overtly sweet, but it works well here. This is a pretty tasty brew on the whole.

Bottle from StFun! Thanks Josh! Black in color, good head but that faded quickly, left a good lacing. Aroma is coffee. Taste is roasted malt, coffee and hint of chocolate. Medium texture. I am not a coffee drinker, but this is still drinkable. It is ashame that this morning I had a beer-geek-breakfast, and that puts this in its place... But overall a decent brew. Thanks josh!
