awiseman01 (318), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Aug 17, 2009 On Tap at Brewpub for State Fair Celebration. Pours black with unnoticeable head. Missing the barrel on the nose, some roasted malt. Flavor is a little weak, with roasted malt and burnt chocolate, minimal, and I mean ’minimal’ whiskey barrel flavor. This honestly tastes more like a porter aged for a day in a jack barrel. Not terrible by any means, but missing that ’Stout’ punch. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Mar 23, 2009 Draught at the pub. Pitch pour with a light brown head. Dry and really nice and creamy, smooth feel, balanced and cleansing. Very very woody and dry. Alcohol well hidden. Bourbon is just a really nice accent, not at all overpowering, works because the base porter is so solid. One of those things that only a brewpub can do - this would absolutely die in the bottle. I really wanted a growler.
