Rating is maximum of the two, one was tired, the other was as the brewer intended it.
Cask (Charters, Peterborough) Slightly watery. Pleasant bitterness and malt, but nothing special. (5:2:6:3:12=2.8)

Very pale yellow, healthy tight head. Served cold. Beautifully sweet fruity aromatic hops on the nose, and a touch of ginger too. Aroma mirrored in the taste - a simple malty base with a decent crisp and fruity bitter zing. Finish continues with the bitterness - quite a tingly finish. Good golden ale, but still just a golden ale.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale gold, smallish white head. Overripe grapefruit aroma, cinnamon, peach, a nice touch of sour. Clean spicy apricot bitterness, toast. Refreshing, well made beer.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear golden color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, flowers, citrus, grapefruit. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cask, GBBF 2007. Clear straw, thin white head. Zesty hop, lots of citrus. Sweet malty mouth and some summer berry. Finishes bittersweet. Good.

A magnificent pale ale. I have no idea what the last reviewer was drinking but it certainly wasn’t Bishops Farewell. This ale is wonderfully aromatic using a huge dose of Mount Hood and Challenger for bittering. The taste is citrus and the finish is sharp and very refreshing.
