A straw coloured beer with some off white flecks of head and lacing. The aroma is lovely and hoppy. Fairly sharp with plenty of grapefruit. This is replicated in the taste which also has a good backbine of malt making it less sharp and harsh than a lot of other Oakham beers. Ihad this at the Peterboro BF all those years ago when it was launched, and am not suprised it swiftly became permenantScore 3.6 Subsequent ratings scored 3.7 and 3.8. Aroma full of citrus moves onto caramel malts and grassyness. Taste was similar but muted hop character killed it a bit, however this was seriously drinkable. I think i did the half in under 3 mins. RERATE: Ecellent balanct ale, bopn accord,. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Sampled at the Medway Beer Festival 2006 on 18/11/06 - NOTE: this beer is "Bishops Farewell" not, I repeat, not "Bishops Finger". It is quite nice, hoppy, sweet and light way. It’s from Peterborough and tastes a bit like Peterborough really! Gr0ve (1412), Oslo, Norway

Thick creamy white head. Rich fresh hoppy aroma. Soft, but refreshingly bitter flavour and mouthfeel. Grassy aroma. Definitely dry-hopped, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it was single-hopped. Hops are minty in flavour. Rune (2848), Tromsø, Norway
