Another great beer from Oakham, darker roasted then regular hoppy beers with a smokey note to the malt, fruity and beery!. Aparantly this uses Japanes hops along with a mix of cluster and Amarillo and it really does showcase the hops well, orange and kiwi fruit to me. I loved this one too. Deep copper, lots of frothy white head that lasts and lasts. Perfumey grapefruit and cinnamon aroma, blending well with a warm caramel touch. Citrus, white wine grape hop flavor, solid malty goodness backbone. Kind of a lingering animal musky quality. Nice substantial body, and spilling over with flavor goodness. One of the beers of the festival I had to go back and get a repeat on. Yum! redlight (1475), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Lemon zest, citrus oil, with a hint of pine resin, and some sweet malts. Pours dark amber with a thick fluffy off white head. Man this is hoppy for an english beer! Whats really interesting is taste a new hop flavor, not the same old grapefruit flavors, with a really different bitterness. Citrus oils, some lemon zest, a dash of grapefruit, with a heavy resiny flavor, this beer does have a strong malt backbone! Its an honor to get this beer all the way in florida! Punchy citrus hits you with a left hook, then the bitterness which coats your tongue and hangs around for ever delivers a devastating right uppercut. Your left reeling before that long, long, hoppy tropical fruit finish delivers the body blow. Oakham don’t do things by half this is great, the Japanese Sorachi Ace hop along with American duo of Amarillo and Cluster hops provide one very interesting beer. Not quite sure what to expect, but this one definitely exceeded all my expectations. Pours a rich orange color, with a voluptuous head. The aroma is unusual and fascinating, with a sweet citrus note dominating. The malt does come through, but that hop charecter is really nice, almost funky. The flavor is what i love about British beers, a near perfect balance between the hops and malt. This would be my everyday drinking, that is if I had a beer engine and an unlimited supply of casks. dchmela (1440), Orlando, Florida, USA

Aroma is very ripe florida oranges, dry hops, and spice. Nice malty body with a nice balance of the spicy hops. Finishes dry and fruity. Really good. It was absolutely freezing on the night I tried this in Newcastle and this pint certainly warmed me up. The orange zest, spice and toffee are perfect for the Winter months and the lingering bitterness finishes off each sip nicely. The fruity aroma doesn’t prepare you for the kick of flavours you get from this beer. Lovely copper colour as well. PhillyBeer2112 (2087), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Dark reddish brown, with a foaming head that settled into a lingering layer of cream. Hoppy aroma, with a spicy resiny citric nature, some caramelized rye breadiness malts, toasty and maybe just a touch nutty. Low carbonation in the mouth, light andsmooth going down, somewhat citric and piney hops skirt the edges, finish easy. Quite an easy drinker.
