The scene for this latest triumph in beer hunting was the enormous Brewery Tap for Oakham, which despite its size is comfortable and informal. A sudden spring shower beat against the windows and Bob Marley was doing his stuff on the tannoy. ’Do you feel love’ he sang and yes I felt loved by this tasty hoppy beauty. Hop sweet, fresh and dry with spicy grapefruit notes. This is a delicious beer in my book, lasting bitterness with a full body. And Bob wailed on in the background, sensational!! Perfumed aroma and flavour. Superb beer, full of jostling flavours and excellently balanced. Strong hops, but palatable; flowery sweet. Dry on the finish, lingering to perfection. Powerful and absolutely delicious. leaparsons (4750), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2004 Amber gold with a white head. Aromas are apple, pears and spicy hops. Flavours are soft malts and earthy fruit but the main thrust of this beer is in the hops - bitter grapefruit with some sweetness. Typical Oakham, really. A decent bitter.
