Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Piercing bitterness in this 'brite' English style wheat beer which mellows to reveal fruit overtones amidst a dry as a bone finish. This is a real thirst quencher.

I like Oakham they put a shed load of hops in everything even a wheatbeer! This is a really interesting twist on a wheat beer and is spectacularly refreshing! i’ve marked it down on appearance only because it’s crystal clear

Cask@Beer Hunters. Slightly hazy golden color, good creamy white head. Fresh citrusy aroma. Very lemon-citrusy flavor, some wheaty notes. Nice hoppyness. Good session beer.

Cask, JDW, Carlisle. Slightly murky, which, I think, was more down to cellarmanship than anything else. Faintly sour, with an apple-like nose. Improved slightly with drinking, with some citrus aromas coming through, but there was still a slightly vinegary/vineous aroma that shouldn’t be there. One to re-rate, I reckon, as Oakham beers are pretty fine normally.

Cask at Hatch End W’Spoons. Golden coloured ale with a fresh floral aroma. Quite hoppy for a wheat beer. Any beer brewed by Oakham is decent. This went down very nicely on a very warm late Spring day in suburbia.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Very pale straw with a thin white head; weak citrus aroma; surprisingly full-bodied; clean and fresh tasting with lemon and a dry biscuity body; gently bitter Grapefruit finish. Very refreshing.

Cask at Penderels Oak, a clear straw-gold with a fine white head, lots of floral hops on the nose with a hint of biscuit. Sharply bitter, with a light grainy body hopped into dryness and a long long dry-bitter finish.

Cask at the New Crown (JDW) in Southgate. Thanks Magicdave! Clear golden amber with a line of white head. Funky grassy aroma. Good taste though, quite a lot of hops for a wheat ale. Not too heavy or wheaty however. I enjoyed this.

Handpulled cask at the New Crown (JDW) Southgate. and several other venues over the year. Gold with a white head. Wonderful zesty fresh wheat beer, full of fragrent citrus hops. Oakham through and through.
