Pours a reddish brown with a bit of haze, so you know that there’s stuff in there. The nose is sweet, full and round with malt and rather liberally hopped for the style. Bigger than most ambers by a longshot. Fuller and creamier in the mouth too. Bigger hops, bigger malt shine in the flavor profile as well. Floral hops with some caramel and chocolate malts. This is really not the A) flavorless mess or B) muddy nondescript mess that most ambers are, and I really appreciate that. It tastes like something good. Well done. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Aroma is hoppy and bright with citrus. Flavor is more balanced by the malts with plenty of hops coming through. I like this style of hoppier amber ales. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Aroma is definitely malty, a bit nutty. Also some floral hops can be detected. Flavor is slightly dry. Body is light to medium with a smooth slightly bitter finish. Refreshing and quaffable. beerinmarch (2806), Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Updated: Oct 29, 2007The second time I tried this was totally different. On tap at the Green Dragon. Much more malty, toasty and more alt-like. The hops were bitter, but not as floral. I prefer the original sample from the KLCC fest over this new recipe attempt.
KLCC brewfest ’07. Pours amber, very clear, with a soft off-white head. Nice hoppy nose, crisp citrus hops. Flavor starts with a nice caramel malt base which is balanced out well with a citrus hop finish. Crisp and fruity amber, nice beer, wish this brewery had a few more to try.
