Commercial Description:
The Perfect Storm Double IPA celebrates the rich traditions of brewing in the Northwest. The perfect storm of six different hop varieties combine to create a substantial ale with a clean finish. A proprietary blend of regional and European barley malts balance the hop bitterness while allowing the hop flavors to dominate.

on tap at belmont station. I think this is more a barelywine, though lighter. A complex, flowery hop aroma, with wheat toast and dried peach in the background. clinging off white head. clear reddish amber. flavors ofcherries, brandy, oak and the hop array. so well balanced,

Had this at the PIB in July. Colour... peachy-amber. Nose... hoppy, piney, grapefruit. Palate... very malty, but a nice follow up with resinously piney hops.Finishes quickly and rather grainy!

On-Tap @ Bailey’s Taproom poured into Shaker glass. Pours a murky sienna orange color with a creamy off-white head that lasts and leave a nice layer atop the glass and heavy lacing down the glass as it is drank. The aroma is filled with grapefruit, caramel malts, and toffee. The flavor is piney and grapefruit hoppiness, sweet malts, booze and ends sweet and dry. Its full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff. I wish the aroma had nearly as much complexity as the taste did. I loved most the flavors I was able to pick up on although maybe a little too much booze.

Tap @ Green Dragon... Poured orange with a white head, nice retention. Hoppy aroma. A nice floral hoppyness with a citrusy sweet balance. Barley grains and sweet, bread-like finish,

Draught at GABF 2008. Hazy amber coloured with a medium sized off white head. Hoppy aroma of grass and pine needles. Hoppy flavour of grass and pine needles with notes of grape fruits. Hoppy finish.

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a transparent deep golden with a frothy, clingy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and sweet pale malt. Body starts with a light malty sugary sweetness with a nice, fresh grapefruity bittering and flavor hoppiness toward a crisp, bittersweet finish. A pretty good IIPA.

GABF 2007: Poured a lightly hazed gold with an off-white head. Huge tangerine hops. Smelled fresh like it was pulp. Smells like a breakfast drink. the flavor was very nice citrus and big pine mixed with caramel malt. Medium to full bodied.
