Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 23, 2004 A red beer with a fine dense beige. The aroma is of cowberries and malt. The flavor is sweet of berries especially cowberries and it has a rather hop and dry end. yesyouam (369), Fairport, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 Obolon Oksamytove is a very sparkling, dark red-brown lager with a soft, dense, moch-colored head. It leaves nice lacing. The aroma is sweet, like caramel, and there almost seems to be a hint of coconut about it. It is medium-light bodied and reasonably smooth. The finish is slightly alkaline. It is sweet and slightly resiny with no bitterness, save a little instant coffee kick at the finish. It is very mellow and chuggable. I’m impressed. nuplastikk (463), Maryland, USA Apr 26, 2008 500ml bottle. Thick and rich brown color. Intense toffee aroma. This is one of the most pleasant dark non-porter beers I’ve had from an Eastern European country. Easy smooth mouthfeel, with a solid chocolate toffee sweet taste throughout. Finishes smooth and creamy. A quality Dunkel. maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Apr 11, 2006 Bottled. A nice dark reddy brown coloured beer with a short-lived off-white head. The aroma is malty and toasty with notes of brown bread and weak coffee. The taste is also malty and woody. More bready flavours and a slightly perfumed floral taste to it. A very good beer. hopscotch (4591), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Feb 5, 2007 Bottle... Clear dark ruby lager with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Malty, vinous aroma with notes of caramel and red wine. Decently balanced flavor. Malty and vinous, like the nose. Sweet caramel, honey, port wine and light dried plum up front, followed by earthy bitterness... still leans just a hair on the sweet side. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with subtle carbonation. Balanced finish. Much better than expected.
