rlgk (2944), Motala, Sweden Apr 22, 2008 Draught at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg. Black color, quite nice brown head. Salty aroma, fruity, licorice, and some glue. Tar flavor, bitter, salty, fruity notes. Not the greatest body to be this strong. Some milky notes and with a salty finish.
Egon (269), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 16, 2008 Draught. Black with beige head. Sweet with low bitterness. Chockolate and liquorice.
larsga (2098), Oslo, Norway Jun 30, 2008 Thin creamy brown head with blotches in lighter hues. Opaque black body. Rich chocolatey mealy aroma with hoppy roasty notes and some alcohol and coffee. Dry-sweet resiny chocolatey taste with some sweetness and alcoholic coffee notes. Quite a bit of bubblegum, too. Dry roasty chocolate aftertaste. A pretty good beer, but loses on the alcohol and bubblegum. They changed the keg while giving me this, so it could be an issue with that. Should rerate. (0.3l draft at Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg.) larsniclas (2735), Gothenburg, Sweden May 17, 2008 Draught at Bishops RAns, Järntorget.
Black with a small, creamy head.
Sweet and roasted in both aroma and flavour; coffee, dark sugar and prety salty.
Quite light body for the alc. Marsiblursi (1262), Göteborg, Sweden May 2, 2008 (Draught) Pours black with a brown head. The aroma is of dark bread, syrup, dark chocolate, coffee, some liquorice and light dark fruit sweetness. Undertones of blackberries, rubber, cookie like toast and some oranges and black currant notes, probably from some English hops. As the beer is getting warmer, it becomes fruitier and a bit vinous. The flavour is medium roasted, tiny burned and tar bitter, bit cookie-ish, light caramelly, dark chocolaty, light coffee, some subtle dark fruitiness and hints of orangey/black currant like hops. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy and rather chewy with some sour notes both from the malt and hops. Hoppy and light burned aftertaste. Medium bodied mybestfriend (226), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 27, 2008 Draught. Black colour wih a dark beige head. Aroma is roasted coffee beans and malts. Flavour is roasted and rather tart with some sweetness. Roasted coffee beans and malts a some smoke. You don’t feel the alcohol. Not the biggest body. The finish is roasted notes together with a nice bitterness. This was quite nice - a bit too tart IMO though...
