At a pub in Carlsbad called Tom Giblins, served in a british style pint glass. Humungous hop aroma, extremely pleasant !!! First sip not too bitter as I may have expected from the hop aroma. More than just a pale with tons of hops, plenty of other mild type roast and malt character. Left a giant hop (Not Bitter Hop) but hop flavor in the end. Slight alcohol warmth on the back of the throat. A splendid effort and top notch ale

On tap at pizza Port Carlsbad. Porued a copper orange with pure white dense head and finger lacing. First sip very strong carmel no for the weak, in fact unless you have a crown by your name do not try this beer. Extreme hop flavor without citrus bitterness just loads on hop oil flavor. Extreme carmel malt flavor not sweet not to dry. Very big mouthfeel, coats your tounge and mouth for ever and perfect balance of big malt an big hops. I have rated very few at 5 this is almost there but it needs more hop aroma.

A very malt intense beer with a god balance between the hops and malts. The Strong ale is delicious and a must drink while I was trying the strong I was told to try a strong blonde and I must say that is just amazing.

PP Strg Ale Fst, gold to copper, sligh fruity nose with big resin citrus pine and apricot, finished by a biscut toast malt. Flavor paralled the nose malt did an exceptional job at balacing the heavy resin hops. Great carbonation, mouthfeel and silk on glass. Slight bitter astringency on the finish...made it crisp and clean

Pours amber orange with a small light tan and a film of lace. A dominant citrus hop aroma with an underlying earthiness and hop flavor without the strict bitterness. Creamy while hopped medium malt structure slight toastiness with a nice amount of carbonation that adds to a very satisfying complexity.

Many thanks to wetherel for sending me the growler!!! Poured translucent coppery-amber with a tall-ish cap of off-white head. Holy Hops on the aroma!.. grapefruit, pine, and floral representin’ well with deep caramel, some toffee, and lighter fruity notes backing it up.. delightful! The flavor was just as solid.. rich caramel, grapefruit meat, and medium-bodied fruits paired with huge hoppage again (grapefruit and pine standing out).. sweet overall with a warm finish that picked up some drier fruit and dusty hops. Creamy and fuller-bodied on the palate with soft carbonation.. great balance between the malty base and the huge hops.. warm and satisfying finish. Great!
