harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 30, 2007 500ml bottle from Peckham’s, Glasgow. Gold with slight haze and green tinge with thin white head. Odd bubblegum aroma. More cheap bubblegum in mouth. This is terrible. Not sure what it is. A wheat beer? Odd bleach. It’s a bland lager with terrible bubblegum and bleach. bierkoning (4932), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 9, 2004 Very light colored. Bighead, probable assisted by chemicals. Just a hint of flowers in the aroma. Sweetish, grainy and a bit salty. Thin. Not good, but could be worse. BückDich (4559), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 12, 2007 Bottle: Golden, nice head and light lacing. Nose of light sweet corn and pale malt, some alcohol and a crude, primal lager quality. The flavor is sweet and corny, zesty lemon and malt. Finishes lame, corny. Meh. Ernest (4254), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 11, 2006 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers/honeysuckle), with a light note of soap, hint of plastic.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Fairly fresh bottle (just recently arrived in Colorado, AFAIK). Surprisingly nice punch of honeyish-flowery hops (Hallertau?) in the nose, which was unexpected. Yeah, kind of a plain and slightly flawed backdrop for them, but a perfectly acceptable flavor balance helps, and it’s not too unclean either. As the dreaded pale lagers of the world go, this is actually decent, definitely drinkable, and doomed to be underrated (I imagine this goes downhill fast sitting on the shelf for very long). maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Oct 19, 2006 Bottled. A yellowy green colourd lager with a short-lived white head. The aroma is corn and ice particles. The taste is pretty much water with a little bite of alcohol. Shocking.
