Commercial Description:
Care for some hops with your hops? Before we ferment our 5 Barrel Pale Ale, we strain it through a bed of 'em. Then while it ages, we add even more. We like how this gives the beer a fresh, lively finish. We like hops.

As we go about refining the recipe for each new beer, we brew up just five barrels at a time. That's exactly how we arrived at this pale ale -- so that's what we named it. Plus, it sounded a lot nicer than Giant Vat Pale Ale.

On tap at their tasting room. This was my favorite of their beers I think... the hops definitely stand out in taste and aroma. A bit thin. The bitterness comes out towards the end.

Odell’s makes some of my favorite beers. There are a few breweries who never disappoint. Odells has been one of those for me.Nice head out of the bottle. Sweet, golden color, faint hop/malt tastes. Very refreshing beer. Very good beer.

Thanks to Shanon for this one! Not so clear pale orange-amber with lower carbonation. Fruity/piney hop aroma. Starts with a floral sweet that turns citrusty and malty finishing with only a mild bitter and long lingering grassy/fruity/piney hop aftertaste. Very dry hopped. Solid.

Pours a deep amber orange, with huge bubbles forming a thick, long-lasting head. Lots of orange, lemon, grapefruit and spice, with a dry, hoppy finish. Smooth, thick mouthfeel and surprisingly well balanced. Excellent beer, but nothing particularly unique about it. I’ll buy it again.

Pours amber/gold and has a creamy white head. It’s a great looking beer and head-retention is excellent. Aroma is hoppy and malty. It smells really fresh. Taste is moderately hopped and fairly malty as well. I also get a hint of metallic and it’s a bit too crisp for me. For being a session pale, the body is pretty big. All in all, I’d say this is quite good, but not amazing. I’d get it again, but I wouldn’t really seek it out.

Light amber body with nice fluffy off-white head. The aroma is light citrus with a touch of caramel. The flavor is grapefruit, biscuit, and caramel. Mouthfeel is light with medium carbonation. Nice session APA.

On Tap at the Falling Rock Tap House, Denver 02/10/2005 Amber coloured with a floral aroma. Slightly sweet and smooth on the palate. Crisp malt finish.
